Struggling for home where home is not meant to be

This article focuses on how asylum seekers in Norway struggle to create a sense of home within physical and political environment that puts significant challenges their efforts do so. Based national survey fieldwork, we demonstrate poor housing the derived marginality challenge existential material home-making processes, thus making it an ambiguous strenuous experience. view is rooted critical phenomenological understanding which built through inter-relational intersubjective relations constitute self senses belonging and/or estrangement, as well well-being mental health. The agentive for crucial aspect seekers’ experiences belonging, health, being at heart questions social justice.
